It’s like the Hunger Games trying to get a vaccine against the corona virus. People are up at all hours of the day and night and logging or calling to try to get secure an appointment for the vaccine. In a word, it’s bananas. It shouldn’t be this hard. But there simply isn’t enough vaccine to go around and there are people who are desperate to get it. So desperate, that they’ve found a way to cut the line and get vaccinated before those who are more eligible.
However, with the distribution of the Johnson and Johnson Vaccine states have been able to vaccinate more people. For example, Maryland jumped in the rankings 12 spots in 5 days and is now in 30th place for vaccination distribution.
While people vie for appointments at local pharmacies and mass vaccination sites, and until recently, there were still moments when vaccines have had to be destroyed because there were leftover doses and all the scheduled appointments were vaccinated. Such a waste! But not anymore!
However, there is hope of getting the vaccine sooner than expected. You can now sign up with Dr. B and get on a standby list for leftover vaccine. The Moderna and Pfizer vaccines must be used within 6 hours of leaving cold…
