The phrase “Eat the frog” comes to mind whenever I’m looking at my far too long to-do list. A fellow writer introduced it to me, and I’ve always looked at my to-do list differently.
If you’re anything like me, you avoid the tasks that will take the most time and are the most involved. Then, when you finally take the time to tackle that daunting task, you find it easier than expected. Sometimes the worst part about tackling a project is the anticipation.
However, I’ve learned to “Eat the frog,” and it makes my day go more smoothly. Granted, there are days I have to be in the mood to tackle something gargantuan.
As a busy mother of four and freelancer, I need to work to get the most out of my day. Eating the frog makes me more productive overall. The more productive I am, the more time I can spend with my children when they’re home from school. Like everyone else, I have a limited number of hours to accomplish my tasks for the day.
Generally, Monday through Friday, I have about 5 hours in my day to write articles, edit my book, work on my website, and promote my work on social media.
